Patient is a 59 year-old female, mother of 5 children, who presented complaining of the “extra skin, fat and belly-button” of her abdomen. Patient hated the vertical, lower abdominal scar that she received after having had a hysterectomy back in 1996 for fibroids, and the scar-contracture created a “T-shaped”-type deformity with adhesion at the top that gave the appearance that she had an exta umbilicus beneath her native one. Patient had been exercising and losing weight prior to this surgery, and she lost a total of 20 pounds preoperatively and went on to lose even more weight postoperatively. She underwent Total Abdominoplasty with rectus muscle plications, and removal of almost 3 pounds of extra skin and fatty tissue from her belly.
