Patient is a 47 year-old Caucasian female who underwent laparascopic gastric bypass surgery back in May 2011 and lost about 122 pounds. Her highest weight was 265 pounds and her preoperative weight was 147 pounds and she now wore a size 6 (formerly size 26). She complained of hanging, loose skin of her lower abdomen that prohibited her from wearing normal clothing. She was otherwise very healthy and active. She worked out regularly with a personal trainer and her weight had been stable for over six months. She was a very good candidate for abdominoplasty to remove her pannus and correct her rectus muscle laxity. She did receive approval from her insurance to undergo surgical panniculectomy with rectus plication and umbilical transposition. She is thrilled with her result!
